An estimate: we assume you buy the package again when its data or days run out, and that you use data evenly. We leave out the minutes and texts in some operators’ packages. Without any package, the per-megabyte rates are much higher:

  • Orange: On its roaming page, Orange gives no per-gigabyte rate outside the EU for these countries; the package turns on by itself when you start using data.
  • Plus: Without a package, the rates in your tariff’s price list apply, and they are much higher; Plus doesn’t give them on its packages page. On pay as you go a package is valid for 30 days, on a contract until the end of the billing period.
  • T-Mobile: In zones 1B and 2 without a package, the first 5 MB are free, then 49 zł for every gigabyte or part of one. Zone 3 (including the Emirates and the Maldives) has no packages, and data costs 1.43 zł for every 100 kB or part of it, about 14,000 zł per gigabyte.
  • Play: Without a package: in zone 1 (including Turkey, the Balkans, Switzerland and the UK) 3.60 zł per 100 kB, in zone 2 (the rest of the world, including the USA and Egypt) 4.30 zł per 100 kB, which is tens of thousands of złoty per gigabyte.
