Do I have to turn on data roaming? Won’t my operator charge me?
On the eSIM, yes, or it won’t connect to a network. There are no charges if data goes through the eSIM and data roaming is off on your Polish SIM.
Data roaming has to be on for the eSIM line: to the phone, a travel plan is a “foreign” network, so without roaming it won’t connect at all. This has nothing to do with your Polish operator’s roaming.
There will be no charges on your Polish SIM if mobile data is set to the eSIM and data roaming is off on the Polish SIM. On an iPhone, also turn off “Allow Mobile Data Switching”, or the iPhone may reach for data from your main number when the eSIM’s signal is weaker. The guide shows both switches on each phone.
