What is an eSIM and how does it work?
An eSIM is a SIM card built into your phone: you install the operator’s profile from a QR code, with no plastic and no trip to a shop.
An eSIM (embedded SIM) is a chip permanently built into the phone, onto which an operator’s profile is loaded. Instead of inserting a plastic card, you scan a QR code or paste an activation code, and the phone downloads the profile over the internet. One phone can hold several such profiles and switch between them in its settings.
For travel, this means you buy a data plan for Turkey, Egypt or the USA at home, install it over Wi-Fi and have internet as soon as you land. Your Polish SIM stays in the phone, so your number, calls and texts work as always.
siEmanko! plans are data only: they have no number for calls and no texts. For calls you still have your main number, or WhatsApp, Messenger and similar apps that work over the internet.
